Standard times and duration

Quoted day-charter rates apply between 9am and 5pm, and evening-charter rates between 6pm and 10pm. Other times are subject to approval and rate variation. The minimum is four hours unless the operator approves otherwise case by case. Public holidays and special days are excluded from the standard tariff.

Travel time

Travel time is charged for pickups or drop-offs beyond Drummoyne Ferry Wharf or Rose Bay Ferry Wharf.

Staffing

SEADUCTION requires one stewardess for all charters. PROMETHEUS requires at least one staff member for up to 12 guests and two for 13 or more; one per 12 guests is recommended for premium service. Staff cost $75 per hour each, with a four-hour minimum.

Booking price, fee and full-payment discount

The booking subtotal combines vessel hire, required staff, amenities and wharf charges. A mandatory booking fee of 2.5% is then added to that subtotal. Pay the full booking price by cash or bank transfer to receive a 2% discount on the total including the booking fee. Optional extras and refundable bonds are itemised separately.

Bond and payments

SEADUCTION requires a $2,000 bond and PROMETHEUS a $4,000 bond. Overnight charters require an additional bond. Full payment is due 10 days before the charter. Accepted payment methods listed in the tariff are EFT, Osko, bank deposit and cash with invoice.

Holds and deposits

A vessel is held for a maximum of 48 hours pending receipt of a deposit. If payment is not received, the hold ends. A deposit of 50% of the vessel-hire rate pays for the operator to allocate the vessel at the specified time and date exclusively to the customer. The deposit is allocated to the total charter fee only if the customer pays the balance and travels at the specified time and date.

Changes and cancellations

Changes to charter terms are subject to vessel approval. Deposits are non-refundable.

Weather

Charters proceed in almost all weather conditions. A credit is provided only if the captain deems the weather unsafe for the specific charter.

Footwear and smoking

Only non-black soft-soled shoes are permitted; high heels are not permitted. Smoking is allowed only while stationary in the designated area. Otherwise a $200–$500 cleaning fee applies.

Cleaning, blockages and damage

The tariff lists $200 for minor toilet blockages and $400 for major blockages such as those involving tampons or face wipes. Excess cleaning beyond normal use, including vomiting, unremoved decorations or shoe marks, is $200. Vessel damage is charged at the cost of repair to the previous undamaged condition.

Conduct and termination

Antisocial behaviour, illegal activity, failure to follow instructions, high intoxication, or abuse of staff or guests may result in termination of the charter or removal of those involved. If a charter ends early due to unsafe conditions involving vessel, crew or guests, no refund is payable.

Breakdown or cancellation by the operator

For a delayed or cancelled charter, the operator may offer a substitute vessel, replacement or refund at its option. The supplied terms limit liability for refunds due to operator failures to the hire fee; where a substitute vessel is provided after breakdown, maximum liability is capped at the difference in vessel cost.

Overnight charters

Quoted overnight prices include four hours of cruising from 6pm to 10pm and overnight berthing at Cockle Bay Wharf, subject to availability. An additional bond applies. Standard overnight pricing is for berthed guests only; standard hourly rates apply while additional guests remain.
